Members of the Partnership are meeting with legislative leadership this week to urge them to prioritize the restoration of COLAs and reject language that destroys the progress we’ve made on our MaineCare Rate Setting System.  We have also collected signatures from individuals and organizations representing over 10,000 workers and 29,000 recipients of care and support urging the legislature to restore the remaining budget cuts to the workforce in their continuing work on a comprehensive budget.

The complexity of the system has made it very difficult for us to communicate the fixes needed to avoid the destruction of the hard-won improvements to reimbursement rates that have helped grow this workforce.

To help communicate what needs to be done, members of the Partnership have done the following:

  • Worked diligently to clearly and more succinctly describe the situation in this “1-Pager” – that includes a back side that defines the workforce and gives a little information about the Partnership.
  • Circulated a sign-on letter that has garnered 133 responses from 69 organizations & 55 individuals to be shared with Legislators this week.
